But before the film went on the floor, Meena Kumari met with an accident. After this she remained in the hospital for several days. Kamal used to go to the hospital to meet him. After coming back from the hospital, Kamal and Meena started talking at night.

At the same time, Meena Kumari’s father did not want her to get married at a young age and that too to a man who was already married and was the father of three children, but Kamal and Meena were deeply in love with each other and it was difficult for both of them to live without each other. Then Kamal and Meena got married secretly on 14 February 1952. When the marriage took place, Meena was 18 years old and Kamal Amrohi was 34 years old.
Kamal had imposed restrictions on Meena
After some time of marriage, Meena was not happy in this relationship and a rift started appearing between the two. Actually, Kamal had started imposing restrictions on him. He used to ask Meena to come by 6.30 in the evening. No one was allowed to go to her make-up room.
She used to travel only in the car which Kamal had given her. At the same time, it was also said that there was domestic violence in their marriage. Due to too many restrictions, Meena became a victim of depression. Fed up, she divorced Kamal in 1964.
