T20 World Cup 2026, Bangladesh: A decision on whether Bangladesh will play in the T20 World Cup 2026 or not is to be taken today i.e. Wednesday (January 21). Amidst the growing controversy, Bangladesh had refused to play the T20 World Cup in India. This controversy increased after the release of Bangladeshi fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman from IPL 2026. On the other hand, Pakistan Cricket Board also seemed to support Bangladesh’s decision of not playing in India.

Decision may be taken at 6 pm
According to media reports, an ICC meeting is going on on Wednesday. After the meeting, at around 6 pm, a decision can be taken whether Bangladesh will be a part of the upcoming T20 World Cup or not. Now it will be interesting to see what decision is taken in the meeting.
Bangladesh expressed security concerns
Bangladesh Board had refused to play in India citing security concerns. The board had also put forward a demand before the ICC that their matches should be held in any country other than India. Not officially, but in media reports it was said that ICC had not accepted Bangladesh’s demand.
Pakistan ready to host
After Bangladesh’s demand, it was also revealed that Pakistan Cricket Board is ready to organize Bangladesh’s matches in T20 World Cup in its country. The thing to note is that India and Sri Lanka are co-hosts in the upcoming T20 World Cup. Pakistan has to play its matches in Sri Lanka.
