Deepti Sharma Breaks Most Wickets World Record: The fifth and final match of the 5-match T20 series between the Indian women’s team and Sri Lanka women’s team took place last night i.e. on December 30, 2025 at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram. In this match, Indian women’s team’s star all-rounder Deepti Sharma created history. T20 International’s number-1 bowler Deepti Sharma has become the highest wicket taker in this format. By taking one wicket in the fifth T20 International match played in Thiruvananthapuram, Deepti broke the world record of Australian bowler Megan Shutt. Deepti dismissed Neelakshi Silva in the 14th over of the Sri Lankan innings. This was Deepti’s 152nd wicket in T20 International, due to which she has left behind Megan Shutt’s record of 151 wickets.
Deepti Sharma becomes the first Indian bowler in T20 International
Before the fifth match against Sri Lanka, Deepti was equal to Megan Shutt in terms of taking the most wickets and both had 151 wickets in their name. With this, Deepti Sharma has achieved another big achievement. She has become the first Indian bowler to take 150 T20 International wickets in both men’s and women’s cricket. He made this record in the third T20 International match against Sri Lanka last week, when he took the wicket of Kavisha Dilhari. In this match, Deepti Sharma had also created a new history. She became the first player (male or female) in the history of T20 cricket to take more than 1000 runs and more than 150 wickets. Deepti has so far scored more than 1100 runs in T20 International cricket. His average is 23.40 and strike rate is 104.26. During this period he has also scored two half-centuries.
