Defense Minister Rajnath Singh’s first reaction to Rahul Gandhi’s statement ’10 percent population is controlled in the army’, know what he said?


Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday (05 November 2025) responded to the statement given by Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on the army. He accused Rahul Gandhi of dragging the armed forces into politics. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, while addressing an election rally in Bihar, had said that the Indian Army controls 10 percent of the country’s population.

‘Rahul Gandhi wants to spread anarchy’

During the election campaign in Jamui, Bihar, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said that he (Rahul Gandhi) is trying to create anarchy in the country by demanding reservation in defense forces. He said, do not drag the army into politics. Now Rahul Gandhi is raising the issue of reservation in defense forces. This is nothing but an attempt to spread anarchy in the country. Our forces are above such differences.”

Don’t bring politics into army: Rajnath Singh

He further said that there is only one religion for soldiers, the military religion. The Defense Minister said, “There should be reservation. We support reservation and have given it to the poor, but when it comes to the army, our soldiers follow only one religion, military religion. Apart from this, there is no other religion. Do not bring politics into the army. Whenever the country has been in trouble, our soldiers have made India proud with their courage and valor.”

10 percent people control the army: Rahul Gandhi

Addressing a rally in Aurangabad, Rahul had said, “90 percent of the country’s population is from Dalit, Mahadalit, backward, extremely backward or minority communities. If you take out the list of 500 biggest companies, you will not find any person from backward or Dalit communities there. They all come from the top 10 percent. All the jobs go to them. The same 10 percent people have control over the army.”
