This time Durga Puja is going to be special in Delhi. The Delhi government has made some big announcements about this. Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced several historical decisions for Durga Puja and Ramlila committees on 6 September.
The government has guaranteed free electricity, easy permission and better facilities to support puja pandals and Ramlila events. This step will prove to be important towards making religious and cultural events more grand in the capital.
Delhi government’s big decision
CM Rekha Gupta said that many schemes have been implemented to make Durga Puja season special this time. 1200 units free electricity will be provided, which will reduce the economic burden on the organizers. Security deposit will have to be paid only 25%, which will provide relief to the committees.
The permission process from the single window NOC system will be easier and faster. The government will arrange basic facilities like cleaning, toilets and ambulances.
Cleanliness will be given attention in the grounds
CM said that the Delhi government respects religious beliefs and is committed to preserving traditions as well as ensuring public convenience. He assured that special arrangements will be made for cleanliness and security in the grounds. Also, a special committee has been formed to solve any complaint or problem.

Diwali and Ramlila will celebrate grand- CM
Rekha Gupta told that this time the celebration of Diwali and Ramlila of Delhi will be more grand. Preparations for the arrival of Lord Ram will be great and the relief from the Central Government’s GST scheme will also prove useful for the citizens. He said that the Delhi government will continue to cooperate all possible support to carry forward cultural heritage and traditions.
