Due to the rising water level and flood warning of Yamuna in Delhi, traffic and movement of common people were banned on the old iron bridge. Orders were issued to stop the movement on the iron bridge from tomorrow i.e. September 2 at 5 pm. The order issued by the District Magistrate Shahdara was said that the water level of Yamuna on the old iron bridge will cross about 206 meters tomorrow at 5 pm.
Advice to go to safe place
The Meteorological Department has predicted light to moderate rain in Delhi-NCR from today to tomorrow. Due to the rising water level of Yamuna, people living in the flood area have been advised to go to a safe place. About 15000 people live in the low -lying areas of six districts of Delhi. At the same time, about 5 thousand people live in the flood area.
Huge amount of water released from Hathinikund barrage
Due to the release of too much water from Hathinikund barrage, the water level of Yamuna reached 204.87 meters on the old railway bridge at 12 noon on Monday (September 1).
3 lakh 29 thousand 313 cusecs of water released at nine in the morning
The old railway bridge is considered a main point to monitor the flow of the Yamuna river and the dangers of possible floods. According to the Irrigation and Flood Control Department, 3,29,313 cusecs of water was released from Hathinikund barrage at 9 am at the time of flood warning, while about 38,900 cusecs of water was released from Wazirabad barrage.
Weather turns in Delhi-NCR
The weather suddenly turned in Delhi-NCR on Monday. The sky remained cloudy since morning and by noon, the intermittent rain started in many areas.
