Eleven people have died in a car blast near Gate No. 1 of the Metro near the Red Fort in Delhi. Many people are injured and have been admitted to hospitals. Market Association President Sanjay Bhargava said in a statement that Chandni Chowk market will remain closed on Tuesday.
Bhargava’s shop is a few hundred meters away from the blast site. He told that the explosion was so powerful that his entire building shook. He said, ‘There was chaos in the market and people started running.’ After the incident, many business associations have demanded increased security arrangements in crowded commercial areas.
After the blast, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took information about the incident from Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
