Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has taken an important decision, giving great relief to flat buyers. Now no separate fee will be charged for parking in the new and ongoing housing schemes of DDA. That means, while buying a flat, you will not have to pay extra money in the name of car or scooter parking. More than 5,000 flat buyers will get direct benefits from this decision.
Housing pocket will be included in the total expenditure
This new system has been implemented after the order issued by the office of DDA Housing Commissioner. Earlier, parking charges were added separately, which increased the total price of the flat.
Now DDA has included the expenditure on parking construction in the total expenditure of the housing pocket. The plinth area rate (PAR) of the flat will be decided on the basis of this total expenditure.
How was money collected earlier?
According to the circular dated December 1, 2025, the expenses related to parking were calculated differently. The construction cost of a car or scooter garage was calculated on the basis of plinth area and 60 percent of the PAR, then depreciation was added to it.
Apart from this, separate PAR of the parking area was calculated and depreciation was added to it and the final price was decided. This complex process placed additional financial burden on buyers.
Fees already charged will be refunded
According to DDA, people who have purchased flats under the schemes and have also paid for parking, will be given relief. Either their amount will be refunded or it will be adjusted in the future installments.
This decision of DDA is being seen as a big relief for home buyers, especially those who were already under the pressure of rising prices.
