Delhi Capitals Qualify For The Playoffs Of WPL 2026: The last league match of the Women’s Premier League 2026 took place between Delhi Capitals and UP Warriors on Sunday 1 February. This match was played at Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara. In this match, Delhi Capitals defeated UP Warriors by 5 wickets and secured their place in the playoffs. Along with the UP team, Mumbai Indians are also out of this season. Mumbai team would have reached the playoffs only if UP won this match, but Delhi Capitals did not allow this to happen. Delhi team will now face Gujarat Giants in the eliminator match on Tuesday, 3 February.

Delhi Capitals restricted UP Warriors to a small score

UP Warriors, who came to bat first after losing the toss, could score only 122 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. UP Warriors’ innings looked under pressure from the very beginning. They lost wickets in the beginning and could not increase the run rate in the middle overs. Deepti Sharma scored the maximum 24 runs. Later, Shikha Pandey scored 23 runs in 13 balls and took the UP team beyond the score of 120. Simran Shaikh also could not go beyond 22 runs. Apart from these, no other UP batsman could touch the 20-run mark.

On the other hand, Marijane Kapp bowled brilliantly for Delhi Capitals and took maximum 3 wickets. Chinelle Henry also played an important role by taking 2 wickets. Both of them kept the UP batsmen tied and did not allow them to reach a big score. Shri Charani was also successful in taking 2 wickets, while Minnu Mani also took 1 wicket.

Delhi Capitals chased the target easily

Delhi Capitals made a strong start while chasing UP Warriors’ target of 123 runs. Laura Wolvaardt scored a brilliant 47 runs in 36 balls, which included 7 fours, while opener Shefali Verma laid the foundation of victory by scoring 29 runs. The partnership of 73 runs between the two made the match easy. Then captain Jemimah Rodrigues played a strong inning of 34 runs in 18 balls and led the team to victory. Now Delhi team will face Gujarat in the eliminator match on 3rd February and the team that wins this match will face Royal Challengers Bangalore in the final on 5th February.
