Delhi Cat and CTI Appeal to PM Modi Against Turkey and Azerbaijan Stop Travel and Trade Ann | Turkish

Delhi news: The Confederation of All India Traders (CAT) and the Chamber of Trade and Industry (CTI) have appealed to the countrymen to fully boycott the visits to Turkey and Azerbaijan and also stop trade with these countries. Because these two countries are openly supporting Pakistan, which promotes its policies against India.

CAT’s National General Secretary and MP from Chandni Chowk, Praveen Khandelwal, called it an issue of national interest and said that this step of Indians will have a profound impact on the economy, especially the tourism sector.

The cancellation of wedding ceremonies and corporate events will cause major damage

Kat has made it clear that they will work closely with travel and tour operator organizations to boycott Türkiye and Azerbaijan’s visits. Apart from this, a final decision will be taken to close business with these countries at the national conference of business leaders to be held in New Delhi on 16 May.

Praveen Khandelwal said that in 2024, 62.2 million foreign tourists went to Türkiye, of which 3 lakh were Indians. Indian tourists spent around $ 291.6 million there. If Indian tourists stop going to Türkiye, then Turkish economy will get a big shock. Apart from this, the cancellation of wedding ceremonies and corporate events by Indians there will be more damaged.

Talking about Azerbaijan, in 2024 there were 2.6 million foreign tourists, of which 2.5 lakh Indians were Indians. These Indian tourists spent about $ 308.6 million. Khandelwal said that if Indian tourists stop visiting Azerbaijan, then there may be economic recession in areas like tourism, entertainment, and marriage. This loss will not only be economic, but will also affect cultural exchange.

‘India should completely stop import-export from China and Türkiye’

Local businesses like hotels, restaurants, and tour operators will also be affected. Khandelwal stressed that this step would force Türkiye and Azerbaijan to rethink their policies towards India. On the other hand, CTI has also taken a tough stand against Türkiye and China. CTI chairman Brijesh Goyal said that China and Türkiye are earning billions of dollars from India markets and tourism, but these countries are supporting Pakistan under Indo-Pak tension.

Appeal to 700 business organizations of Delhi

He has appealed to 700 merchant organizations of Delhi to completely stop import-export from China and Türkiye. CTI has launched a campaign in Kashmiri Gate Market and plans to pursue it in more than 100 markets in Delhi. Goyal has demanded from the government that imports from China should be immediately banned and e-commerce policies should be tightened, so that consumers know which country they are buying goods.

‘Dependence on Chinese goods will have to be reduced’

CTI also said that India will have to reduce dependence on Chinese goods. Its goods such as chemical, pharma, electronics, toys, and automobile parts come from China on a large scale. Goyal suggested that the Government of India should find their options, such as increasing production in the country or importing from other countries. From Türkiye, India imports goods such as mineral fuel, inorganic chemical, and cotton, while India exports engineering goods, petroleum, and medicines to Turkey. CTI believes that by exploring other options for these goods, India can create economic pressure on these countries.

The purpose of this appeal of CAT and CTI is not only to cause economic loss, but also to give a strong political message. Khandelwal said that India is stronger than ever before Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Indian traders can go to any extent for the security and integrity of the country.

This step will not only force Türkiye and Azerbaijan to think on their policies, but will also be a big step towards India becoming self -sufficient. It remains to be seen how much the country and the government support this campaign.
