Delhi waterlogging problem: Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Lieutenant Governor Vinay Kumar Saxena and PWD Minister Pravesh Verma inspected on Friday to deal with the problem of waterlogging before the monsoon in the capital Delhi. The Chief Minister himself visited the points with waterlogging like Minto Bridge and ITO for two hours.

During the inspection, there was a time when Chief Minister Rekha Gupta herself took a stick and the depth of the drain was seen examining. During the inspection on Minto Bridge, he raised several questions to the officials and also reprimanded the negligence.

At the same time, seeing the leakage in the pipe near the drain near ITO, the Chief Minister called the Chief Secretary on the spot and instructed the PWD, Jal Board and Flood Management Department to work together. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said that the previous government did not deny the drains.

Today thousands of tons of garbage are being extracted from drains. How can Delhi be saved from drowning without cleaning and how can Yamuna be cleaned? The entire department is engaged day and night. Not only is cleanliness being done but encroachment is also being removed. “

After inspection of ITO, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta reached the WHO Building and saw the situation of the drain there too. Amid inspection, PWD Minister Pravesh Verma along with Delhi Lieutenant Governor Vinay Kumar Saxena also reached there.

The Chief Minister accused the previous government of negligence in cleaning drains and claimed that work in the BJP government is taking place fast. The Delhi government claims that for the last two months, the work of cleaning the drains and removing the encroachment has been going on for the last two months. Now it has to be seen how much relief Delhi can get from waterlogging in this rainy season.
