The country’s capital Delhi is shivering with cold. The morning of Thursday, January 15 was the coldest morning of the season. According to the data released by the Meteorological Department, the cold in Delhi has broken all the records of this season. The lowest temperature was recorded this morning. The minimum temperature was recorded at 2.3 degree Celsius in Palam area of Delhi, 2.7 in Ayanagar and 2.9 in Safdarjung.
The minimum temperature was recorded at 2.9 degrees Celsius in Safdarjung, while it was 2.3 degrees in Palam, 3.4 degrees in Lodhi Road, 4.5 degrees in Ridge and 2.7 degrees in Ayanagar. If we talk about maximum temperature, it was recorded at 20 degrees in Safdarjung, 16 degrees in Palam, 19.3 degrees at Lodhi Road, 18.2 degrees at Ridge and 19.2 degrees Celsius in Ayanagar.
AQI of Delhi-NCR still in worrying condition
Air pollution in Delhi-NCR has once again reached critical levels. According to the latest data, Greater Noida continues to be in the top ranks among the most polluted areas of the country. The Air Quality Index (AQI) is being recorded in the red zone in the entire NCR including Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad, due to which normal life is being directly affected.
Talking about Noida, AQI is in very poor category at all the active monitoring stations. AQI was recorded at 359 in Sector-1 Noida, while 352 was recorded in Sector-125 Noida, 347 in Sector-116 Noida and 342 in Sector-62 Noida. It is clear from these figures that the air of Noida continues to be poisonous.
The situation in Delhi is also very worrying. AQI has reached above 350 in many areas. AQI was recorded at 384 in Chandni Chowk, 376 in Ashok Vihar, 373 in Bawana, 386 in Punjabi Bagh, 383 in Okhla Phase-2 and 399 in Pusa. In Nehru Nagar Delhi, the AQI reached 397, which falls in the very serious category. Whereas, AQI was recorded at 345 in Anand Vihar and 332 in Alipur. In some areas like Mathura Road, AQI was 259, which is still in the poor category.
