Delhi Police Commissioner SBK Singh ordered the suspension of eight policemen, including Inspector and Sub -Inspector Rank officials, after his visit to the ISKCON temple on Saturday (August 16). SBK Singh went to the temple to review the security measures taken in view of the Janmashtami festival, where thousands of devotees come every year.
Security has been increased at the temples and religious places of the city due to the possibility of a large number of devotees coming. During his inspection, the commissioner found that no security personnel were stationed at an important place in the temple complex. This created serious concerns about the overall preparation and vigilance of the employees on duty.
Suspension on charges of negligence in duty
The police chief immediately directed to suspend eight policemen on charges of being negligent in duty, directing strict action. He also gave strict warning to the in -charge of Shahabad Dairy police station, whose part of the deployment under the jurisdiction used to come.
Instructions were made to monitor sensitive religious places
Senior officials said that the commissioner has asked all the District Police Commissioners to personally monitor the arrangements at sensitive religious places and ensure that the policemen should be cautious and active.
