Ramlila organized by the Nav Sri Religious Leela Committee (registered) included in the historical and ancient Ramlilas of Old Delhi will also be staged at the Lal Qila Maidan this year. The event has been taking place continuously since 1958 and has been entering its 67th year this year.
For years, this Ramlila has become the cultural identity of not only Delhi but the whole country. This time, the committee has also assured to stage Ramlila with tradition, discipline and grandeur.
Enthusiasm in Bhoomi Pujan
The Bhoomi Poojan ceremony concluded with great reverence and enthusiasm before the staging of Ramlila. Many prominent personalities were present on this occasion. Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva, Mayor Raja Iqbal Singh, former MLA Anil Bhardwaj, Ashok Devraha and BJP District President Arvind Garg of Chandni Chowk attended the ceremony as the chief guests.
People present on this special occasion of Bhoomi Pujan appreciated the importance of Ramlila and wished for its successful organization.
Ramlila is not just a cultural program, National Heritage- Virendra Sachdeva
During the Bhoomi Pujan, Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva said, “This Ramlila organized by the Nav Sri Religious Leela Committee at the Lalkila Maidan is not just a cultural program, but the cultural heritage of the whole country.”
Mayor Raja Iqbal Singh said that this Ramlila has become the identity of Delhi. He said that the committee is constantly working to connect the society and keep cultural values alive, which is commendable. He believes that this year’s staging will also be grand and exemplary.
Former MLA Anil Bhardwaj said that Lord Shri Ram is a living ideal of Indian culture. The staging of this Ramlila gives children and youth a chance to join the culture and culture. He also said that Shri Ram’s ideal dignity, truth and religion are a source of inspiration for today’s generation.
History proud Ramlila
Committee general secretary Jagmohan Gotewala said that this Ramlila is one of the ancient Ramlilas of Old Delhi. He proudly told that this Ramlila has been observed by many big leaders and veterans, including Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Dr. Rajendra Prasad, Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan, Giani Jail Singh, Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi family.
He said, “We have been staging Ramlila continuously since 1958. This year too, it will be staged with more grandeur, discipline and enthusiasm. It is not just a drama, but a celebration of our cultural and social values.”

This Ramlila of the newly Shri Dharmas Leela Committee has created a celebration for the people of Old Delhi every year. Ramlila is not just a means of entertainment, but it is also a platform to connect the new generation with culture, religion and moral values.
This year too, all are ready for the grand staging of Ramlila at the Lal Qila Maidan and the capitalists are showing enthusiasm about this historic event.
