There is big relief news regarding the Rithala-Bawana-Narela-Kundli metro corridor proposed under Delhi Metro Phase-4. Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena has approved to allot Delhi Jal Board (DJB) land to Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) for this corridor. With this, the way has been cleared for construction of viaduct from Rithala to Rohini Sector-25.

This matter was pending for the last several years. Now after the approval of LG, the construction of the metro line is expected to speed up.

How much and what kind of land will DMRC get?

Under the approval, DJB will hand over 50 square meter land of STP complex located at Rithala on permanent basis (99 years lease) and 1286 square meter land temporarily (for 4 years) to DMRC.

In return, DMRC will pay a total of Rs 75 lakh 50 thousand 353 to Delhi Jal Board. Rs 12 lakh 28 thousand 937 are included for permanent land, Rs 63 lakh 21 thousand 416 are included for temporary land. DMRC will be able to use this land only for the construction of metro viaduct.

Development of Narela will get big benefit

This decision will not only give impetus to the metro project but will also give a big boost to the plans to develop Narela as an education hub, residential area and sports hub. There was a demand for better connectivity in this area for a long time.

Delhi-Haryana connectivity will be strengthened

With the completion of Rithala-Kundli metro corridor, movement between Delhi and Haryana will become easier. There will be less traffic and pollution in areas like Rohini, Bawana and Narela. Lakhs of people will get direct metro facility through 21 elevated stations.

This metro route will be connected to the Red Line

This corridor will prove to be a lifeline for those areas of Delhi-Haryana border which till now did not have direct access to Metro. Narela-Kundli metro route will be connected to the Red Line, which will make traveling in NCR easier.
