The campaign against end of life trains in Delhi will now run from November. That is, by October 31, old vehicles will get petrol and diesel. The decision was taken at the CAQM meeting on Tuesday (July 8). Sources gave information about this. In a while, the CAQM direction will issue a new amendment of 89. From November 1, a ban on giving diesel petrol to old vehicles will also be applicable in important cities of NCR like Ghaziabad, Gautam Budh Nagar (Noida), Gurugram and Sonipat along with Delhi.
Delhi government’s demand was accepted- sources
The Delhi government had demanded that the ban on petrol and diesel for old vehicles should be implemented with NCR. According to sources, CAQM has accepted it in today’s meeting.
No fuel policy back, some time was given- formula
According to sources, some time has been taken to remove the challenges coming now. Now from November 1, no fuel policy will be implemented in Gurugram, Ghaziabad, Gautam Budh Nagar and Sonepat as well as Delhi for EOL (Ind of Life). CAQM has not withdrawn the decision of no fuel to the EOL vehicles. Just some time has been given so that more preparations can be made properly.
Delhi government gave this argument
Sources said that the Secretary of the Environment Department of the Delhi Government, presented by the Delhi government, had argued that the problem of detection in the AnPR camera on petrol pump in the capital Delhi is not more effective. At the same time, the Secretary of the Environment Department of the Delhi Government had also argued that the order should be implemented with the NCR, otherwise the old vehicles running on the roads of Delhi will go to the neighborhood states and get petrol and diesel filled with petrol and diesel. With this, the basic spirit of the order which is to stop pollution will not be fulfilled.
Three months given time
In such a situation, on the demand of the Delhi government, CAQM has given the Delhi government 3 months to implement the rule of not giving fuel in the old car in Delhi. It was decided in the meeting that by 1 November 2025, the Delhi government will remove the technical problems coming in the ANPR camera.
