Delhi news: Rekha Gupta government of Delhi has taken a big decision. From the year 2025-26, there will be a section of at least one English medium in every class in all government schools. This step has been taken because many parents want their children to study in English, so that they can help them in science, technology or other high studies later.
Children will get admission in these sections on the basis of interest and merit. Schools have to be given the right books and materials to teach in English. This change will also be recorded on school records and government portals. Government officials will investigate whether the rules are being followed or not.
Government released circular
According to the circular issued by the Delhi government, at least one section in each class should be nominated as English medium. Admission to English medium section can be done on the basis of merit of students. Except for will and regional languages, all subjects will be taught in English in the specified section.
‘Monitoring officers’
It was further written in the circular that adequate teaching materials should be made available in English. This initiative is requested to monitor the implementation of the official school records of the UDISE portal and all the district and regional officials and provide the necessary assistance wherever necessary. This circular should be brought immediately to the attention of all concerned. Pre -approval of competent authority is necessary.
