Indian Youth Congress held a peaceful demonstration today against the arrest of Uday Bhanu Chib. A large number of Youth Congress workers gathered in this demonstration organized in the capital and raised the demand for the release of the leadership. The atmosphere was completely peaceful, but the attitude of the workers was clearly filled with anger.
During this, all the leaders demanded in one voice that Uday Bhanu Chib and other Youth Congress workers should be released as soon as possible. Speakers said that peaceful protest is a democratic right and it is unfortunate to treat it as a crime. He said that Youth Congress workers have been raising the voice of youth, farmers and common citizens across the country and that is why they are being targeted.
‘If you demand accountability then you will be arrested’
Congress leaders alleged that when accountability is sought from the ‘Compromised PM’, instead of answering, the route of arrest is adopted. He said that such action will not weaken the movement, but will strengthen the struggle of the Youth Congress. The resolve to protect democracy and freedom of expression was repeatedly reiterated from the stage.
Youth workers arrived from all over the country
Youth Congress workers, National Executive members and state presidents from different states of the country participated in the protest. The youth present in large numbers sat peacefully and registered their protest and raised slogans in support of the leadership. Congress leaders say that until the arrested leaders and workers are released, the process of raising their voice democratically will continue.
Political message from the presence of Congress veterans
The presence of many senior Congress leaders on this occasion made it special. AICC media department chairman Pawan Kheda, former Youth Congress president and AICC secretary Srinivas BV, Delhi Pradesh Congress president Devendra Yadav, AICC Delhi in-charge Qazi Nizamuddin, Punjab MLA Rana Gurjit Singh, Odisha Congress in-charge Ajay Kumar Lallu, AICC secretaries Abhishek Dutt and Tauqeer Alam and many other senior leaders were present on the stage. The unity of the leaders clearly indicated that the party is taking this issue seriously.
