Police will seek remand of Uday Bhanu
Delhi Police had called Uday Bhanu Chib to Tilak Marg police station for questioning. After a long interrogation, the police arrested Uday. Police say that Uday Bhanu Chib had all the information regarding this protest or the IYC President had an important role in planning the entire protest. Police said that Uday Bhanu did not cooperate during interrogation. Uday Bhanu either shrugged off most of the questions or tried to mislead them. According to police sources, the police have found enough evidence against Uday Bhanu after which the arrest has been made. Now the police will present Uday Bhanu Chib in the court and present their arguments regarding his role there. Police sources say that police remand of Udaybhanu will be sought.
A total of 8 arrests were made in the shirtless demonstration
This matter came into limelight when IYC workers protested without wearing shirts during the AI Summit. The protesters raised slogans on government policies and issues related to AI and created ruckus at the venue. The police had registered a case under this incident for disturbing public peace and other sections. So far, a total of 8 people have been arrested in this case, including Uday Bhanu Chib. The police interrogated throughout the night and it is alleged that Uday Bhanu did not cooperate fully in the investigation.
How did Congress react to the arrest?
Congress MP Shashikant Senthil said, ‘Despite being affected by issues like youth unemployment and paper leaks, answers were not being received from the government, due to which the demonstration had to be held at the AI Summit. Even when MPs like us raised issues, we did not get any response. The youth felt that there was no hope from the ‘compromise’ PM. This was a very small protest, whereas lakhs of youth are unemployed. Youth Congress workers have come from this background. He showed bravery, that too when he knew what kind of government there was.
Major suspicion of conspiracy in investigation
Delhi Police has not yet issued an official statement, but according to sources, a ‘big conspiracy’ is being suspected in the investigation. Police say that there was an organized plan behind the demonstration and top leaders of Youth Congress were involved in it. Uday Bhanu Chib was kept at Tilak Marg police station, from where he was arrested.
