Delhi Police action on shirtless demonstration at AI Summit, four Congress workers arrested, will appear in Patiala court

Delhi Police has arrested all the four main accused in the case of shirtless demonstration at India AI Impact Summit 2026. All of them are leaders of the Indian Youth Congress (IYC) and the police has started preparations to present them in the Patiala House Court. All four accused have been identified. Apart from this, Delhi Police is also interrogating IYC President Uday Bhanu at the Parliament police station.

Delhi Police included many serious sections in the FIR

Delhi Police said that the protesters had also scuffled with the police. Many serious sections have been imposed in the FIR, which include allegations like spreading obscenity in a public place, assaulting the police and disturbing law and order. Police said that the accused had already made a QR code for entry into Hall No. 5 of the summit and had taken the T-shirt inside by hiding it under the sweater.

According to sources, the arrested Youth Congress protesters had earlier planned to enter the Mandapam by putting printed stickers on black umbrellas. Then they realized that the black umbrellas would be caught during checking at the gate. Then he changed his plan and got stickers printed on the T-shirt. Investigation is underway as to where the stickers were printed.

All four accused identified

According to police sources, the four arrested accused have been identified. These include IYC National Secretary Krishna Hari, Bihar State Coordinator Kundan Yadav, UP State Vice President Ajay Kumar and National Coordinator Narasimha Yadav. Initially the police had detained 4 to 10 people, but now four main accused have been formally arrested. The search for the rest is ongoing.

Police investigating from the angle of large conspiracy

ACP Mahala reiterated that this incident seems to be completely pre-planned. He said, ‘Definitely if some people reach a place and protest like this, then it is not possible without pre-planning. We are investigating it. The police is now investigating from the angle of larger conspiracy. It is being seen whether this demonstration was the action of only a few people or whether there was a bigger plan and more people were involved in it.

Protestors raised slogans at the summit

This incident took place on February 20, 2026 at around 12:30 pm in the exhibition hall of Bharat Mandapam. The protesters showed slogans like ‘PM is compromised’, ‘Epstein files’ and ‘India-US trade deal’ written on T-shirts against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and India-US trade deal. They took off the shirts and raised slogans and created ruckus, which created chaos among the international delegates and guests present there.

The police immediately took them out and took them to Tilak Marg police station. Now after the arrest, he will be presented in Patiala House Court, where a hearing on remand or bail can take place.
