Justice Yashwant Varma Cash Row: A team of Delhi Police reached the residence of High Court Justice Yashwant Verma on Wednesday (March 26). According to news agency PTI, official sources said that the team led by Deputy Commissioner of Police (New Delhi) visited Justice Verma’s residence in connection with the investigation of alleged seizures of cash.

DCP of Delhi Police New Delhi Devesh Kumar Mahala was present at the residence of Justice Yashwant Verma for about an hour. Sources said that Justice Verma’s store room and surrounding space have been sealed, burnt cash was found here.

According to sources, some High Court officials also reached Justice Verma’s residence. Before reaching the team’s residence, police sources said that the team will inspect the place where there was a fire and can interrogate the employees working in Justice’s residence.

On 22 March, the CJI formed a three-member committee to investigate the allegations in-house. Also, it was decided to upload the investigation report of Chief Justice of Delhi High Court DK Upadhyay on the Supreme Court website.

This report included alleged pictures and videos of heavy stores of cash. Justice Verma claimed a conspiracy regarding cash and said that these rupees are not from him or family. He said, “No member of his family had ever kept any cash in the storeroom.”

A fire broke out in a room in the official residence of Justice Yashwant Verma on 14 March in the posh Lutyens area of ​​Delhi. While extinguishing it, fire personnel and policemen allegedly recovered cash. There was a ruckus after this news came in the media.
