Delhi Red Fort Blast: Big news has come out from the country’s capital Delhi. Here on Monday evening, a high intensity blast took place in a car near the Red Fort. After this blast, many cars caught fire, due to which so far eight people have died and many people are said to be injured. Officials present on the spot say that the death toll may also increase. Along with this, a high alert has also been issued in the entire Delhi and surrounding states.

After the cars got damaged in this blast in Delhi, a question arises that if your car also gets damaged in such a blast or man-made disaster, then can an insurance claim be made? Let us know what are the rules of insurance companies related to this?

What to do during such an incident?

Insurance experts say that it becomes a bit difficult to make an insurance claim in a situation like war or blast. In such a situation, if such an incident happens to you, then first of all ensure your safety and collect all the evidence. For example, take photos of the car from every angle, collect photos and videos of the surroundings and do not tamper with your car at all. After collecting all the evidence, first file a police FIR and then inform the insurance company about the incident through phone or email and send them all the evidence along with the FIR copy and other necessary documents.

Claim is not available in these circumstances

According to insurance experts, most insurance companies accept insurance claims in cases of natural disasters like flood, rain, lightning or earthquake. Apart from this, insurance claims are also accepted in case of man-made disasters like fire, terrorist incident or riot. However, motor insurance also has an exclusion clause, under which certain specific cases are kept out of the scope of insurance. This includes incidents like war situations, military actions, bomb blasts, bio-chemical attacks. This clause was introduced after the terrorist attacks in New York on September 11, 2001 and its purpose was to save insurance companies from bankruptcy.
