Delhi traffic advisory on Muharram 2025: On July 6 (Sunday) on the occasion of Muharram, a large -scale Tajiya procession will be taken out in Delhi. Thousands of people will take to the streets in this religious event, in view of which the Delhi Police has become completely alert. Along with keeping security arrangements, special plans have also been made to maintain traffic systematic.
Special advisory of traffic police regarding traffic
Delhi Traffic Police has issued a detailed traffic advisory on this occasion, which has been informed about the major routes from which the procession will pass. The public has been appealed to see the traffic plan before the journey on 6 July and plan your journey accordingly.
Main procession from Old Delhi to Karbala, many routes affected
According to Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Dinesh Kumar Gupta, the main Tajiya procession of Muharram will go from Old Delhi to Connaught Place to Karbala via Arvindo Marg. Apart from this, small and big Tajiya processions will also come out from other areas of the capital, due to which traffic will be affected on many routes.
Traffic diversion and potential closure warning of roads
According to the traffic police, traffic will be diverted in some places where the procession will come out and some routes can be completely closed. In such a situation, if you are thinking of getting out for an office or any urgent work, then leave with extra time for the journey.
Tajia’s procession will affect these paths
The main Tajiya procession will pass through Chitli tomb, bangle waln, Matia palace, Jama Masjid, Chawdi Bazaar and Hauz Qazi and will return from the same route. Another procession will come out of the old police post, Ashok Basti, Qutub Road, Khari Baoli, Lal Kuan, Hauz Qazi, Chawdi Bazaar and Jama Masjid. It will also return by its path.
Safety arrangements, monitoring from drone and CCTV
Delhi Police has made extensive security arrangements to maintain peace. Along with the deployment of heavy police force, the procession will be monitored from drone cameras and CCTVs to deal with any unpleasant situation.

The police have requested the general public to avoid the Tajia procession routes, follow the traffic rules and plan in advance, so that not only the traffic can be maintained smooth, but people do not have to face inconvenience.
