In view of the huge crowd of devotees on the holy occasion of Navratri in Delhi, the traffic police has issued an advisory. Especially in the areas around Kalkaji Temple, there is a possibility of impact on traffic from March 18 to March 27, 2026. In such a situation, an appeal has been made to the common people to make complete plans before traveling and use alternative routes.
According to the traffic police, maximum pressure can be seen on Outer Ring Road, Maa Anandamayi Marg, Captain Gaur Marg and Aastha Kunj Road. There is a possibility of slow speed of vehicles on these routes and the possibility of traffic jams. In such a situation, passengers have been advised to get information about the traffic situation before traveling and wherever possible, use public transport instead of private vehicles. This will not only save time but will also reduce traffic pressure.
There will be a ban on heavy vehicles
On the first day of Navratri i.e. from 2 pm on March 18 to 2 am on March 19, there will be a ban on movement of heavy goods vehicles on some major routes. However, emergency services are exempted from this restriction.
Strict rules regarding parking
Parking will be completely banned on the Outer Ring Road between Nehru Place and Modi Mill flyover. Action will be taken if rules are violated. Drivers have been advised to use only designated parking spaces.
Guidelines for Pedestrians
Devotees going to the temple have been appealed to use only the foot over bridge to cross the road. Strict action can be taken if you jump the railing or cross the middle of the road. Also use only the designated paths on the footpath. At the same time, the traffic police has appealed to the drivers to follow the instructions of the policemen deployed on the spot. So that traffic remains smooth during the festival.
