Pollution in Delhi has reached a dangerous situation. The situation is such that now people have to take to the streets regarding pollution. On Sunday (9 November) some people protested at India Gate. Also demanded from the government that the government should make policies to stop air pollution in the National Capital Region. Many protesters have been arrested and taken away by the police.
Many students and Delhiites who were protesting to reduce pollution were taken into custody by Delhi Police. Those detained include JNUSU President, Joint Secretary and AISA DU President and Secretary and several girl students. He said that we are being taken to some unknown place.

‘We are dying here’
A protestor at India Gate said, “AQI is at its peak in Delhi. We are being evacuated from here and are not being allowed to protest peacefully. Common people are dying. Still the government is not making any policy and is hiding the figures. We are dying here and the entire workforce is deployed in Bihar.”
‘We need a permanent solution’
He further said, “They (the government) are spraying water on data centres. Even cloud seeding has not worked. This is not a solution. We want a permanent solution. Even the public is fast asleep. Many people are here to watch the show, but they are not raising their voices in the protests.”
