Delhi weather update: Monsoon has come in most parts of the country, while this time the monsoon knock in the capital Delhi has delayed the time, due to which the citizens are facing strong sunlight and increasing humidity. On Friday too, people faced summer and sticky weather. While the Meteorological Department had expressed the possibility of rain and thunderstorm last week, till now the monsoon is waiting.
The general date for the arrival of monsoon in Delhi is June 27, but this time it did not rain despite this date. According to PTI, the monsoon came on June 28 last year, while it reached 25 June in 2023, 30 June 2022 and on 13 July in 2021.
IMD said the reason for the delay in monsoon
In recent times, many areas of Delhi have been cloudy and light rain also occurred at some places, but the wait for heavy rains is still pending. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that the southeastern winds have been blowing for the last three-four days, but due to the circulation of the upper air and the curiosity system, the monsoon is not moving towards Delhi. This situation has been seen not only around Delhi, but also around South-West Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Rajasthan, due to which the arrival of monsoon in the entire region is delayed.
Today there may be a little rain- IMD
According to the IMD, there is a possibility of change in the direction of winds in the coming three to four days, which can lead to the monsoon towards Delhi. The monsoon usually reaches Delhi from 27 to 30 June, but this time it is expected to be more delayed. The Meteorological Department has issued a ‘yellow alert’ for today and has predicted splashing with moderate rains and thunderstorms, which can provide some relief from the heat.
On Friday (June 27), Delhi’s maximum temperature was recorded at 39.1 degrees Celsius, which was 1.9 degrees below normal. The minimum temperature was 29 degrees Celsius, which is slightly higher than normal. The relative humidity was 72 percent at 5:30 pm, which made the atmosphere more humid.
