Delhi will soon get its first metro ring corridor, metro service will start on two new routes.

There is big and relief news for the people of Delhi. Further strengthening the metro network in the capital Delhi, the work of the first metro ring corridor being built under Phase-4 is almost completed. In this phase, metro trains will soon be seen running on Majlis Park-Maujpur and Deepali Chowk-Majlis Park corridors. Preparations are on to inaugurate the metro service on both corridors by Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself.

When will the two new routes start?

All the necessary technical and safety checks on these two routes have almost been completed by Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC). As soon as the formal inauguration takes place, metro service will be started for the general public. This will directly benefit lakhs of people of North-West and North-East Delhi.

What is Majlis Park Maujpur and Deepali Chowk Majlis Park Corridor?

Majlis Park Maujpur Corridor connects North Delhi with North-East Delhi. With the start of this route, people living in Jahangirpuri, Wazirabad, Bhajanpura and surrounding areas will get easy and cheap travel. Whereas Deepali Chowk Majlis Park corridor directly connects densely populated areas like Rohini and Pitampura to the metro network.

How will the Metro Ring Corridor be built?

With the joining of these two routes, a kind of metro ring corridor will be created for the first time in Delhi, due to which passengers will not have to take a long trip to go from one line to another. Delhi Metro, operated by Delhi Metro Rail Corporation, is the country’s largest and most reliable transport system. Till now, lakhs of people of Delhi and NCR are traveling by metro daily through Phase-1, Phase-2 and Phase-3. The purpose of Phase-4 is to connect those areas which till now did not have direct access to Metro.

What will be the benefit of Phase-4?

The metro corridor to be built under Phase-4 will play a very important role in reducing traffic jams, reducing pollution and saving people’s time. The special thing is that the increasing network of metro will also reduce the dependence on buses and private vehicles. With the launch of these new routes, office going employees, students, women and elderly people will all get great relief. Now people will not have to get stuck on crowded roads for hours and safe and easy travel will be possible at low cost. Overall, this first metro ring corridor for Delhi will strengthen the public transport system of the capital and will further strengthen Delhi Metro transport in the future.
