Demand to change the name of a district in UP after Shahjahanpur intensified, BJP MLA wrote a letter to CM

BJP MLA from Bansdih assembly constituency in Ballia district of Uttar Pradesh, Ketki Singh, has urged the central and state government to rename Ghazipur after Maharishi Parashuram’s father Maharishi Gautam.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Ketki Singh said on Monday that he has written a letter to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in this regard.

Ketki Singh said from Bansdih, ‘I will definitely request Yogi Adityanath government and the Center to change all such names. All such names that remind us of our stigma, which are kept to glorify and praise the invaders, all such names should be removed and the birthplace of great men should be named after him. Under this, I want the name of Ghazipur district to be changed.

Ketki Singh claimed that the history of Ghazipur is close to Maharishi Gautam, and quoted that the name of the district should be changed as Allahabad was renamed as Prayagraj.
