The situation is that it is becoming difficult for a person earning a salary of Rs. lakh to buy a simple flat here. As for owning property, the city’s rental market also seems to be out of the reach of the middle class. The matter is actually such that when a deposit of Rs 30 lakh was asked for a 2BHK flat in Fraser Town area of the city, the person got confused after seeing this. This is the topic of discussion right now in the Reddit forum.

In the caption of the post, the user wrote, Landlords are getting out of hand in Bangalore. Along with this post, the user also shared a screenshot of the listing, in which it was clearly written – “New building, rent Rs 20,000 and Rs 30 lakh as security deposit.”
Other details include designer interior, premium bed, modular kitchen appliances, full power backup, in-house security and car parking. However, the user found it unreasonable to deposit Rs 30 lakh as deposit. Various types of comments are coming on this post. One user wrote, “Rs 30 lakh deposit? You can buy a builder’s flat and pay EMI instead of rent. I don’t know who would go with Rs 30 lakh deposit.” Another user wrote, “Bangalore landlords are scammers.”

In the post, some people have also expressed their concerns about the rising house rents in Bengaluru. One user wrote while giving advice, if you are single and working, then take PG. The hassle of deposit is over. Another user wrote, I am finding it difficult to buy a house in Whitefield. Being the only earning person in the house, I feel that I will have to compromise on living in a bad area as most of the places are very expensive.
