Dhurandhar suffered a loss of Rs 90 crores.
Speaking to CNN News 18, Dhunradhar’s distributor Pranab Kapadia said that he has suffered losses due to the ban. Pranab said, ‘I think there has been a box office loss of Rs 90 crore. Because traditionally action films perform well in the Middle East. That’s why we feel that films should definitely be released there.
He further said, ‘At the same time, we have to respect the views, rules and regulations of any country. Because they have their reasons. This is not our first film which has been banned in Middle East countries. Fighter was also not released there, there are many others along with it. We tried our best to get this film released there, but Dhurandhar found his audience. If not in the Gulf then at least somewhere else.
Apart from this, Pranab had said that the December holidays have also helped in taking the film to the audience. People travel overseas in this season. Especially from the Middle East to Europe and America. The film released during the peak holiday season of December. Traveling audience can spare their time to watch the film.
