Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami’s government seems to be in decisive mode against illegal encroachments and encroachment on government land in Devbhoomi Uttarakhand. Through the ongoing bulldozer action in the state, the government has given a clear message that there is no room for illegal encroachment, law violation and those who play with the identity of Devbhoomi.
Under the leadership of CM Pushkar Singh Dhami, action is being taken in the state for the last few years through strict land laws, anti-copying laws, anti-riot provisions and special campaigns against illegal encroachment. The government claims that the purpose of these steps is not to target any particular section, but to protect government land, public property and the socio-cultural fabric of the state.
Government garden land in Gadarpur freed
In the same sequence, an illegal construction built on the government garden land in Gadarpur area of Udham Singh Nagar district was demolished by the administration at around 5 am in the morning. According to the administration, the party concerned was earlier issued a notice and given two weeks’ time, but valid documents were not presented. This action was taken as per rules after completion of the stipulated time limit. Apart from this, recently a bulldozer ran on an illegal structure in Haridwar Road area of Dehradun.
More than 570 illegal encroachments removed
According to government figures, more than 570 illegal structures have been removed across the state so far during the tenure of the Dhami government. With this, more than 10 thousand acres of government land has been freed from encroachment. The administration says that this campaign is not limited to demolishing only illegal structures, rather its objective is to make government land available again to the public and for development works.
The freed land will be used in future projects related to tourism development, expansion of infrastructure, public facilities and employment generation for youth. The government says that any kind of illegal occupation of Uttarakhand land, no matter under what guise, will not be tolerated.
