Dharmendra died a few days before his 90th birthday. The entire country is in mourning due to the demise of the veteran actor. His family includes his wives Prakash Kaur and Hema Malini, sons Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol and daughters Vijeta Deol, Ajita Deol, Esha Deol and Ahana Deol. Dharmendra’s last rites took place at Pawan Hans crematorium on Monday and along with his family, many celebs including Shahrukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Salim Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone came to bid farewell to the veteran actor. Now Ameesha Patel has revealed many things that happened during Dharmendra’s stay in the hospital.

Let us tell you that Ameesha Patel could not attend the funeral of Dharmendra. Actually the actress is in New York City. Expressing grief over Dharmendra’s demise, Ameesha told News18 in a special conversation, “I have not yet contacted the family. They are under a lot of emotional pressure. I do not want to upset them because they have a lot of people coming and going and this would not be right. At this time, they do not need to express condolences to others. They need privacy right now to deal with the situation.”

Ameesha said, “It is not an easy situation for him. He needs time to grieve and we have to give him that time. But as soon as I reach Mumbai, the first thing I will do is to meet him.”

Ameesha had gone to the hospital to know about Dharmendra’s well-being.
Let us tell you that earlier this month, Shahrukh, Salman, Govinda and Ameesha Patel had reached the hospital to meet Dharmendra. During that time, the veteran actor was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital after complaining of difficulty in breathing. Recalling their meeting, the actress said, “It was a very tense situation and it was important to leave him alone even at that time. He was in a very delicate state. Be it Shah Rukh, Salman or I, we were there for ten minutes to hug Sunny. It was a moment that he was not able to understand because it was about the person he loved the most.”

Talking about one of her last meetings with Dharmendra, Ameesha said, “Last year when I met him at Aamir Khan’s daughter’s reception, he reminded me of a film we were going to work together in, in which he was going to play my father. He had a very sharp memory. I was a part of the Deols family.”

Ameesha further said, “The Indian film industry has lost not only an iconic actor and perhaps the most beautiful human being on this planet, but also a great human being. Many people achieve name, fame, stardom and worldwide recognition, but when you leave behind a legacy where people remember the person you were, it is a great achievement.”
