Ranveer Singh’s ‘Dhurandhar’ has reached the top of the box office charts on its first day in theatres. The spy drama marked the best start of Ranveer’s career both domestically and abroad, giving the film the much-needed launchpad for a strong lifetime run.
How much did ‘Dhurandhar’ earn in the domestic market?
‘Dhurandhar’ performed better than expectations in the domestic market and earned Rs 27 crore nett and Rs 32.40 crore gross in India. Most trade experts had estimated the initial earnings of the film to be around Rs 18-20 crores, but positive word of mouth took the film beyond Rs 25 crores by the end of Friday. There have also been baseless reports of manipulation of data through block booking.
How was the worldwide opening of ‘Dhurandhar’?
Amidst all this, ‘Dhurandhar’ has created a stir in foreign countries as well. On the day of its release, it earned $850,000 in international regions, taking its worldwide earning to Rs 40 crore in the first day. ‘Dhurandhar’ beats ‘Sayara’ and ‘Padmavat’ worldwide
‘Dhurandhar’ has now become the best opening film of Ranveer Singh’s career. It has also left behind some of the biggest hits of Bollywood this year, including Ahan Pandey and Aneet Padda’s ‘Sayara’, which had earned Rs 29 crore on its first day worldwide.
