Aditya Dhar’s film ‘Dhurandhar’ continues to take the world by storm. Recently this film held the record of being the fifth highest grossing Indian film of all time worldwide. A day after this, this spy thriller has achieved another big achievement in the foreign market. The interesting thing is that this film has not been released in the Middle East, one of the biggest markets of Indian films, yet ‘Dhurandhar’ has now been included in the top 15 highest grossing Indian films abroad.
‘Dhurandhar’ box office update
On the 32nd day, i.e. the fifth Monday, for the first time a huge decline was seen in the global collection of ‘Dhurandhar’. After maintaining its momentum for a month, the film faced a decline of 65% in the domestic market and more than 60% in overseas markets. Due to this, the one day worldwide collection of the film fell below Rs 10 crore for the first time after its release.
Despite this, according to trade sources, ‘Dhurandhar’ has made a net earning of Rs 776.75 crore and gross earning of Rs 932 crore in India. The film’s producer, Jio Studios, claims that the Ranveer Singh starrer film has crossed the net earning mark of Rs 800 crore in India, making it the first Bollywood film to achieve this feat.
While overseas, the film has earned over $31 million, taking its worldwide total to Rs 1215 crore, bringing it very close to SS Rajamouli’s RRR. The 2022 blockbuster RRR had earned Rs 1230 crore, and Dhurandhar should cross it by Wednesday.
‘Dhurandhar’ beats ‘Pushpa 2’
On Monday, the foreign collection of ‘Dhurandhar’ reached a staggering 31.3 million dollars. Its distributors claim that if the film had been released in the Middle East also, this figure would have been more than 40 million dollars. However, despite this, it has left behind the overseas lifetime collections of mega hit films like Sultan ($29.8 million) and Pushpa 2: The Rule ($31 million).
