Foods That Cause Diabetes: Diabetes is not caused only by eating sweets, it is also deeply related to your daily eating habits. There are many foods which we either underestimate or eat daily considering them normal, but in the long run, these things can lead to uncontrolled blood sugar. Let us tell you about such foods, if you eat them unnecessarily or in excess, the risk of type-2 diabetes can increase.

Deep-Fried Snacks

Samosa, pakoda, chips, all these are our favorite everyday snacks, but continuously fried foods are full of unhealthy fats. This fat gradually accumulates in the body and increases weight. If weight increases, insulin resistance will also increase and this is the main reason for type-2 diabetes. The oil used in fast food is heated repeatedly, due to which trans fat is formed in it, which deteriorates the blood sugar more rapidly.

Granola and healthy cereals

Granola and many types of breakfast cereals are sold with healthy tags, but the amount of sugar hidden in them may surprise you. Many granola bars, oat bars and cereals contain so much added sugar that even a small serving can cause blood sugar to spike immediately. Frequent sugar spikes make the body more dependent on insulin and this habit increases the risk of diabetes in the long run.

Processed meats like sausage, bacon, salami are high in sodium and nitrates. These elements are not only bad for the heart, but according to research they also have a direct relation with diabetes. Processed meat increases inflammation in the body and slows down metabolism, due to which it becomes difficult to control blood sugar.

Cold drinks and packed soda contain very high amounts of sugar. The amount of sugar in one can of soda is more than several days’ worth of natural sugar intake. Such drinks immediately increase blood glucose and put constant pressure on the pancreas. Every time you drink a sweet drink, the body has to produce additional insulin, which increases insulin resistance over time.

Things made from flour, like white bread, buns, cookies, naan, break down into glucose very quickly. There is no fiber in flour, hence it increases blood sugar immediately. By repeatedly eating high glycemic index foods, the body has to work harder to keep blood sugar balanced. This habit gradually increases the risk of diabetes.

White rice is an important part of the Indian diet, but it is completely refined carbohydrate. Its glycemic index is also very high, that is, it directly increases blood sugar by converting into glucose when eaten. Eating large amounts of white rice daily leads to weight gain and worsens sugar control, which increases the risk of type-2 diabetes.
