The journey from an ordinary street in Rishikesh, Uttarakhand to passing the toughest examination of the country is not easy. But if the intentions are strong and the hard work is true, then even circumstances give way. One such inspiring story is that of IAS officer Namami Bansal, who has proved that dreams do not see the circumstances, they only ask for courage.
Namami Bansal was born in Rishikesh, Uttarakhand. His father Raat Kumar Bansal runs a small shop selling utensils in the city. The income from this shop was just enough to meet household expenses. There was neither money nor any kind of facility for big dreams. But Namami had a deep passion for studies, which was clearly visible since childhood.
Namami was very good in studies since her school days. He scored 92 percent marks in class 10th and 95 percent marks in class 12th. Due to good marks, she got selected in the prestigious Lady Shri Ram College of Delhi. This is a matter of pride for any student, but for Namami it was also the beginning of a new responsibility. He completed his graduation in Economics Honors from there.

Along with studies, Namami always thought about the condition of her family. After graduation, he continued his studies further and performed brilliantly in MA studies also. He received a gold medal for topping the MA from Open University, which was awarded to him by the then Governor KK Paul. This moment was very emotional and full of pride for him and his family.

However, studies alone do not suffice. To help the family financially, Namami started working after studies. During this time, the dream of serving the country became stronger in his mind. She wanted to become an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer. But the condition of the family was not such that expensive coaching could be taken or the entire time could be devoted only to preparation. Despite this, Namami did not give up. He started preparing for UPSC exam while working. Without any coaching, I read books on my own, made my own notes and kept taking one step towards my goal every day. Studying till late at night after day’s work had become his daily routine.

Finally, in the year 2017, his hard work bore fruit. In the fourth attempt, Namami Bansal secured 17th rank in the UPSC exam and became an IAS officer. This was not just his victory, but a story of hope for many people who consider their dreams small due to limited resources.
