Tariq Rahman: Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) working president Tariq Rahman has returned to Dhaka from London after 17 years. Tariq Rahman is the son of ailing former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia and will be actively campaigning for the upcoming general elections in Bangladesh on February 12.
Tariq Rehman was living in London with his family since September 11, 2008. This visit of his is being seen as his return to politics after 17 years.

After arrival, Tariq Rehman reached EverCare Hospital to meet his ailing mother Khaleda Zeeta. Apart from this, he will receive National NID Card to become a voter of Bangladesh on 27th December. Tariq Rehman is the working president of BNP and a key face of the party, who will play an important role in the party’s strategy and campaign in the upcoming elections.

The eyes of many other countries including India are fixed on his public meeting. There is huge tension in Bangladesh after the recent murder of student leader Hadi and it is believed that Tariq Rahman can express his views on this issue also.

Tariq Rehman stood barefoot on the ground for some time before going to his welcome place. After this he left for the venue of the program in a bullet proof bus. From the airport to the rally venue, he has been provided security equal to that of the PM. As soon as he reached Dhaka, Tariq Rehman met his mother, former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia. At 3 pm local time, Tariq Rehman will address the nation and inform the public about his political direction.
