Due to this, scientists and doctors are working on new treatment. Meanwhile, it has now been revealed in a new study that playing conch that is considered a religious and cultural symbol in Indian tradition can be helpful in reducing the symptoms of sleep apnea. What is sleep apnea

Sleep apnea is a condition in which the throat muscles become very loose during sleep, causing tissues like tongue, palette and tonsils to fall backwards and close the windpipe completely. Due to this blockage, a person has trouble breathing again and again and has to wake up from sleep again and again. Due to which the risk of fatigue, irritability and many diseases also increases in the day.

Does the conch shell reduce the symptoms of sleep apnea?

According to the study, playing conch activates the lungs and throat muscles and sleep can reduce the symptoms of apnea. In this study, 30 patients were researched, which revealed that the quality of sleep in the conch shell improved up to 34 percent, while the sleep was reduced during the day, the oxygen level improved, the Hypoxia index saw a decline of 4.4 percent. While playing the conch, the person has to breathe deeply, which increases the capacity of the lungs. There is more pressure to play the conch, which strengthens the muscles of the throat and the tongue and does not block the airways in sleep. Apart from this, the vibration generated from the conch activates muscles and improves breathing process.
