During the interview, Suzanne Khan said, “We charge a flat design fee per square foot. We do not take commission on the things purchased by the client. For 2,000 square feet apartments, the client’s budget, location and fees on the choice of the material are from Rs 1,200 to Rs 2,000 per square ft.
He added, “I take 30% advance fee before starting work and then designs. Once they finalize it, I take money for the material, and we do room-by-room work,” thus, Suzanne makes a charishan of Rs 25-30 lakh to designing a luxurious apartment of 1,500 square feet in Mumbai.
Initially, he had to face criticism
Recalling the early days of his business, Suzanne said, “In 2011, we started The Charcoal Project. It was India’s first conceptual home store. No one had even thought about it before that – every furniture was selling, but no one was giving conceptual design.” He also revealed that initially he had to face a lot of criticism. Suzanne said, “People rejected me as another ‘Celebrity Interior Designer’, because in those days everyone was becoming the same thing, they did not know about my previous story.”
He further said, “People said to me, ‘This will not work. You are spending a lot of money and hard work. Everything will be over in a year. But by the grace of God, we are standing firm after 14 years. Money is coming and going, but balance is necessary. Re-investment is very important.”

Suzanne also told about the personal challenges that he had to face due to being weak in financial matters. He said, “I do not have the mind of mathematics. I am an entrepreneur, but when it came to financial matters, I needed help. My brother in law had guided me in this difficult period.”

At the same time, talking about Suzanne Khan’s personal life, he married Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan in the year 2000. But their 14 -year marriage was broken in the year 2014 and he was legally separated after taking divorce. The pair has two sons Rehan and Ridan, whom both of them are co-operating. At the same time, he has moved forward in his life where Hrithik Roshan is dating Saba Azad, while Suzanne Khan is in a relationship with Arslan Goni.
