Dodge the radar, defense system useless! Why are Iran’s 5 missiles becoming a headache for the superpowers?

Iran’s Missile: Iran is currently going through its most delicate phase. Large-scale protests are taking place within the country, reports of dissatisfaction among the security forces are emerging and the pressure on the government is continuously increasing. Meanwhile, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has taken a big and shocking step. He has handed over the responsibility of strict action in the country to the notorious Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

Along with this, Iran has also fully activated its mysterious underground ‘Missile City’. This is being seen not only as a preparation to deal with the internal situation, but also as a sign of external conflict. So let us know which dangerous missiles Iran has.

What is Iran’s ‘Missile City’?

Missile City is considered the most dangerous face of Iran’s military power. These underground bases are built under the mountains, from where ballistic and hypersonic missiles can be launched at any time. In the tense situation of 2026, activating these bases is not just being considered a military exercise but an open warning. America, Israel and other countries of the Middle East are calling it a power show of Iran.

Khorramshahr-4: The most dangerous missile

According to BBC report, Khorramshahr-4 is counted among Iran’s deadliest ballistic missiles. Its range is said to be more than 2000 kilometers and it flies at hypersonic speed. The biggest strength of this missile is its heavy warhead, which can be up to 1500 kg. It was successfully tested in 2025. According to military experts, this missile can target any part of Israel.

Fateh-2: Hypersonic speed

Fateh-2 is said to be Iran’s first hypersonic missile. Its speed is said to be up to Mach 15 i.e. extremely fast. Its range is about 1400 kilometers. Its speed is so high that it is considered very difficult for the existing missile defense system to stop it. After its successful test in 2024, it has now been deployed in Missile City.

Sajjeel-2: Launch in two minutes

Sajjeel-2 is a two-stage solid fuel ballistic missile. Its range is said to be around 2500 kilometers. It takes only 2 minutes to launch, due to which the enemy does not get a chance to react. This missile is easy to hide and its accuracy is also considered very high. This is an important part of Iran’s strategic strength.

Shahab-3: old but reliable

Shahab-3 is one of the oldest missiles of Iran, but even today it is considered very reliable. Its range is between 1300 to 2000 kilometers and it is capable of carrying a nuclear warhead. This missile, deployed in the 1990s, has been upgraded from time to time and is still considered the backbone of Iran’s long-range strike capability.

Zulfiqar: Shorter distance, more accurate

Zulfiqar is a short-range ballistic missile, which has a range of about 700 kilometers. Its biggest strength is its tremendous accuracy. It can be fired from a mobile launcher and has been specially designed keeping in mind Saudi Arabia, UAE and American bases present in the region.
