Does Dhoni have full control of CSK?
MS Dhoni’s good friend and fellow cricketer Suresh Raina had spoken on this topic during IPL 2025. Suresh Raina on Star Sports said, “People say that only MS Dhoni takes the final decision. To be honest, I have not gone to a single auction till date and have never been involved in discussions regarding the team. All I can say is that Dhoni must be getting a call from the management as to whether a particular player should be taken or not, but he does not contribute much.”
Who takes decisions?
Raina had also revealed that only the management takes major decisions. According to the former Indian cricketer, Dhoni can be asked whether he wants to keep 4-5 players. Some of them are retained and decisions regarding other players are taken by higher officials.
Did Dhoni have a hand in removing Jadeja?
Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran will now play for Rajasthan Royals, in place of both of them, CSK has included Sanju Samson in its team. There is no confirmation that MS Dhoni had a hand in Ravindra Jadeja going to Rajasthan team, but according to Cricbuzz, CSK management took the trade process forward only after Dhoni got the green signal.
