Trump Tariff: US President Donald Trump has praised Chinese President Xi Jinping among Tariff War and called him ‘very smart man’. Trump has increased the tariff on China to 125 percent by giving relief to all countries of the world for 90 days. Earlier, China also retaliated and announced to impose 84 percent tariffs on American imports.
Trump ready for talks with China
Seeing the increasing tension over tariffs between the two countries, Trump has said that he is ready to interact with Xi Jinping. Talking to reporters at the White House on Wednesday, Trump praised Jinping. He told that there is still scope for talks between the two countries. It is worth noting that ever since Trump took over his second term as President, he has not spoken with the Chinese President. This is the first time in the last 20 years when no President has spoken with his Chinese counterpart.
Trump said- pressure will remain on China
During this conversation, Trump called Xi Jinping one of the world’s most intelligent people. He said, “He (Jinping) is a man who knows what to do. He loves his country. ”Trump also believed that America is not benefiting from China at the moment. He also said that he would think about talking to Xi Jinping. He hoped not to increase more tariffs on China, but also talked about maintaining pressure on the dragon. Repeating his point during this time, Trump said that the US has been behaving badly for the last several years and the administration of the previous Biden allowed this to happen.
