Donald Trump is hosting the lunch of Pakistani Army Chief Asim Munir at the White House on Wednesday (18 June 2025). He was asked what he was expecting to achieve diplomatically from the meeting with the Pakistani General? Referring to Munir, Trump said, “This person had a lot of influence in stopping it (war) from Pakistan. There was a tremendous situation of confrontation between them and both of them are nuclear -rich countries. I stopped this war. I did not write any script. I stopped the war between two big countries, big nuclear -rich countries. “
In a conversation with US President Donald Trump on Tuesday (June 17, 2025), PM Modi clearly said that India does not accept mediation and will never accept. He said that negotiations between India and Pakistan forces started on stopping military action on the request of Islamabad.
The first ceasefire between India and Pakistan was announced by the US President on 10 May. Since then, Trump has been claiming that he meditated in the ceasefire agreement by threatening to stop trade with the two countries if he did not agree to stop the struggle. India has rejected Trump’s claim every time.
