Donald Trump on Digital Tax: ‘American companies are not pulled for you’, Trump’s new tariff threats on digital tax

US President Donald Trump has now warned countries imposing digital tax on American technology companies. Trump said that those companies will have to pay extra tariffs on their exports in America until they withdraw it.

‘Chinese companies are exempted’
Trump said in a post on his social media platform Truth Social that these policies improperly target American companies like Google, Meta’s Facebook, Apple and Amazon, while Chinese technical giants are exempted.

He wrote, “As the President of America, I will stand against countries that attack our amazing American technology. Digital tax, digital service law and digital market regulation, all these have been designed to damage or discriminate with American technology.

‘Respect American companies, otherwise the consequences will be suffered’
The President further said that until these countries withdraw such laws, they will impose a lot of additional tariffs on their products and impose export ban on American technology and chips. Trump said, “America and American technical companies are neither gullak nor dormat for the world. Respect America and our amazing technical companies, otherwise it will have to bear the consequences.”

The revenue earned by many countries, especially in Europe, has been taxed by large digital service providers. This issue has been a problem in business relations for many years. First Biden and now the Trump administration believes that these taxes apply only to American companies. Trump had earlier threatened to impose tariffs on France and Canada over digital service tax.
