India Pakistan Ceasefire: US President Donald Trump has so far claimed in many places regarding the ceasefire of India and Pakistan. Trump had said that he played an important role in the ceasefire. Now the Trump administration made the same claim in the court. The Trump administration has resorted to ceasefire to defend the case related to its tariff. The administration claimed in the US International Trade Court that the ceasefire could be broken if the rules related to tariff are not considered.
According to a report in ‘Indian Express’, the Trump administration has resorted to Indo-Pak ceasefire to defend its tariff’s decision in the court. The administration said that tariff power was used to calm the case between India and Pakistan. On May 23, 2025, US Commerce Minister Howard Lutnik filed a statement at the US International Trade Court (US Court of International Trade), saying, “President Trump used his tariff -related rights to get a ceasefire between India and Pakistan.”
Trump has taken credit for India-Cesfire many times
US President Trump has several times claimed that he has resolved the recent military tension between India and Pakistan through a trade agreement. Trump has taken credit for this matter at many places. India started retaliation against Pakistan after Operation Sindoor.
