US Elections: US President Donald Trump has announced major changes in the country’s voting system. Under the Executive Order issued on 25 March, now it will be mandatory to give evidence of citizenship for voter registration in Federal elections.

5. Changes in electronic voting
as per the order, now the voting machines will be banned on barcode or QR code based ballot. This will make the counting process more transparent and safe.
6. Full prohibition on foreign donations
The new order also clarified that foreign nationals will not be able to give any funding or donations in US elections. This is an attempt to protect the electoral process from external influence.

Trump administration gave the example of India and Brazil and said that these countries are making voter identity safe through biometric databases. In contrast, the US was still dependent on self-interest for citizenship verification.
