US President Donald Trump on Friday (September 5, 2025) criticized the leftist policies of the Brazilian government, saying that his policies were harming the country. Trump expressed goodwill from the US towards the people of Brazil.

In response to a question in Washington, Trump said, ‘We are very angry with Brazil and they are doing something that is very unfortunate. We have very good relations with the people of Brazil, but the government there has become very leftist and is causing great harm to Brazil.

According to the report by news agency ANI, this comment has come at a time when the US administration is considering banning the movement of several foreign delegations during the upcoming United Nations General Assembly session in New York.

Trump’s ban on many leaders for United Nations meeting

Let us know that the Trump administration has already refused to give visas to Palestinian leader Mahmood Abbas and his delegation to attend the United Nations meeting of the high level this month. Similar measures are being considered for delegations of Iran, Sudan, Zimbabwe and Brazil, which are traditionally one of the prominent leaders in the opening session of the General Assembly starting on 22 September.

Tension continues in Washington and Brasilia

The tension over trade between Washington and Brasilia is already increasing. Last month, Brazilian President Louis Inecio Lula de Silva had said that his government would not immediately put a counter -tariff on the US, as well as he called upon US President Donald Trump to join the business talks again.

Brazil is also facing 50 percent tariff

At present, Brazil is also facing 50 percent tariff on exports to America like India. Although Brazil has not yet responded to similar measures, its Chamber of Foreign Commerce (Camex) has started investigating whether measures can be implemented under domestic law.
