US President Donald Trump said on Thursday that any compromise to end the attack on Russia’s Ukraine and Vladimir Putin will not be held in the Alaska meeting on Friday, but in the second, three -way meeting which will also include Ukraine President Volodimir Jailonsci. Trump said that the Alaska meeting will mainly create an atmosphere for the next phase.

Talking to Fox News Radio, Trump said, “The second meeting will be very important, because there will be a compromise there. I do not want to use the word ‘divided’, but to some extent it is not even a bad word.” He estimated that the meeting with Putin on Friday is 25% likely to fail.
Importance of Alaska Summit
Alaska meeting will be Putin’s first American visit in 10 years. It will be held on August 15 at Joint Base ElineDorf Richardson, Encourage, Alaska. This place holds historical significance, as Russia sold Alaska to America in 1867 and its western end is beyond the merit with Russia.

According to the New York Times report, Putin’s terms may include the recognition of Russia’s control over Eastern Ukraine, keeping Ukraine out of NATO, limiting his army and ensuring a Moscow -backed government in Kiev. Trump, who promised to end the war in 24 hours during the election campaign, connects his peace initiative with the ambition to receive the Nobel Peace Prize.
