In DRDO, scientists are appointed to posts like scientist ‘B’, ‘C’, ‘D’, ‘E’, ‘F’, whose salary is decided according to their grade-pay and level.

How much salary is available in the present?
Currently, the scientist appointed to the post of Scientist ‘B’ of DRDO gets a basic salary of Rs 56,100. Apart from this, their total monthly salary, including dearness allowance (DA), house rent allowance (HRA), transport allowance and other allowances, reaches around Rs 85,000 to Rs 1,00,000. As the post of scientist increases, their salary also increases.

How much can salary be increased with the 8th Pay Commission?
If the 8th Pay Commission applies in 2026, then it is expected that the basic salary may increase by at least 25%. This means that the basic salary of scientist ‘B’ can increase from Rs 56,100 to Rs 70,000 to 75,000. Similarly, this increase in other senior positions can be more effective. With this, the salary can be more than Rs 1.3 lakh or more by going above Rs 1 lakh.
