Deadly cough syrup: Recently, the news from Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan has shocked the entire country. So far, 11 innocent children have died in these two states. And initial investigation has revealed that these deaths may cause two brand cough syrup. As soon as this matter came to light. The health department of these two states has immediately banned the sale and distribution of these syrup.
Samples have been sent to the lab for investigation and medical teams from the center to the state level have become active. At present, instructions have been issued to doctors and pharmacy stores that no child should be used by these syrups. Even if the symptoms of cough and cold are not modest. The investigation teams are trying to find out what such thing was found in the syrup. Who killed children.
Dangerous chemicals found in syrup
In the preliminary inquiry, the Health Department suspects the presence of poisonous chemicals like dietaline glycol in syrup. This is the same chemical that has become the cause of death of children in many countries before. The names of these syrups are being described as Coldrif Cuff Syrup and Nexa DS Kapha Syrup. According to officials, the syrup making company did not follow all the standards of safety testing.

And without complete investigation, the medicine was launched in the market. Now FSSAI and Drug Control Department has ordered to return every bottle of that batch from the market immediately. Pharmacists have also been kept on alert so that no one accidentally sells these drugs.
Such deaths occurred in Gambia and Uzbekistan
This is not the first time that children have lost their lives due to phlegm syrup. A similar incident took place in the African country of Gambia in the year 2022. Where about 70 children died due to poisonous syrup. In that case also the syrup was a drug made in India and it was found to be chemicals like diethylene glycol and ethylene glycol. After this, 19 children died of cuff syrup of another Indian company in Uzbekistan.

After these two incidents, questions were raised on the drug manufacturing process of Indian pharma companies internationally. Now that similar incidents have come to light in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. So the central government has ordered an inquiry to the drug departments of all the states to ensure that such negligence is not repeated in any other state.
